A Bible Study of the Matthew 24 Timeline
Jesus compared His second coming to the days of Noah, “For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah” (Matthew 24:37). This study of Matthew 24, Just Like the Days of Noah, explores the timeline of Christ, cutting straight through the most complex schemes and debatable theories of our day.
Is today comparable to the days of Noah, a time that grieved God enough to intervene with GLOBAL JUDGMENT against the sin and deception that opposes His Word and righteousness?
Consider this - we are living in an age of apostasy, widespread abuse and violence. Greed and idolatry are pursuits of the rich and famous that we aspire to rather than humbling ourselves before the will of God.
In terms of anticipating the return of Jesus Christ, how many of us are preparing for the day of the Lord? Not fearfully worrying but prayerfully preparing with a knowledgeable confidence of what that day entails! The day of the Lord is a day for the saints as well. It is a day of reception, restoration, resurrection, and renewal. What do we do as we wait? We as the bride of Christ are to prepare! (Revelation 19:7)
“For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, they were marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, And they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so shall the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matt. 24:38-39).
What didn't the people understand? Isaiah described Judah in his day as a people who did not understand. “An ox knows its owner, and a donkey its master's manger, but Israel does not know, My people do not understand” (Isaiah 1:3). A sinful nation, they were weighed down with iniquity and rebellion, having turned away from their righteous God. Sound familiar?
