Jan Darnell

Jan Darnell has been a student and teacher of Precept Ministries biblical studies for over forty years. She brings her passionate pursuit of God's truth to every Bible study and devotional she writes. Married since 1982, she has raised 7 children alongside her husband, Barry Darnell, a nuclear engineer in North Carolina.  This year, on February 27, 2025, they will celebrate 43 years of marriage.

Jan's doctrine aligns with fundamental Christian beliefs that center around Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of anyone willing to turn from sin and receive forgiveness. Salvation and eternal life have been made possible through the sacrifice and work of Christ and Christ alone (John 14:6).

Turning from sin initiates a “born again” experience, evidenced by the “living” water of the Spirit springing up from within. God’s Spirit transforms and anoints us to extend the same mercies of Christ to others that we have received ourselves.

We should stay in a state of readiness for the day of the Lord and return of Jesus Christ. The day of the Lord is coming! Jesus will return! In anticipation we wait with an eagerness and willingness to prepare for this glorious event, promised from the beginning (Gen. 3:15). “The kingdom of the world will become the kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ and He will reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).
